A “street alleviation” is a permission to park on the street for a larger number of vehicles.
Street Alleviation’s can be granted for:
- Occasions when the requirements for parking are unforeseen, such as funerals or events related to a funeral
- Construction by the City or Region
- Parking lot construction
- Alleviations are NOT granted for planned or unplanned social events, rituals, or ceremonies
- You would need to submit a permission to park online for these events
- Alleviations only exempt vehicles from timed offences:
- Park between 2am-6am
- Park in excess of three (3) hours
- Alleviations cannot be granted for:
- Oversized Motor Vehicles (OMV):
- 6.7m (22 ft) in length or 2.6m (8.5 ft) in height
- Vehicles without a valid license plate
- Vehicle interfering with any snow clearing activity
- Oversized Motor Vehicles (OMV):
